In his early years, Ryan was always interested in technology. Computers, cameras, lights–anything he could get his hands on. God soon put on his heart that he could utilize his love for tech and combine it with evangelism. That eventually created Ryan’s social media connection of over 150,000 students and young adults.
In late 2007, he began volunteering at his home church, Bayside Community Church. He soon began relationships that became some of his most meaningful mentors and close friends. Some of them being Pastor Randy Bezet, and children’s Pastor Jason Browning. These relationships changed the way Smith saw life and faith.
Winter Jam has made an extremely dense impact on Ryan’s life. From meeting his all-time favorite band, Skillet in 2008, to being able to meet TobyMac backstage in Tampa.
Another relationship formed at Winter Jam was speaker Nick Hall. Ryan and Nick “met” through social media in 2011′s East Coast leg of the tour. They began talking, which formed an official meet-up / interview for soon-to-be movement, All For Him, the following year.
Nick Hall’s impact on Smith’s life is tremendous. Hall really opened the world of evangelism to Ryan. Seeing all that’s been down through PULSE (Nick’s ministry) really sparked a fire in Ryan’s heart that paved the way for All For Him.
